Jacqui utilizes iRest® Yoga Nidra with coaching to help people navigate transitions, manage stress, chronic pain and trauma, find meaning, purpose and passion.

She listens, encourages and asks questions you might not ask yourself. She helps you see possibilities and options, overcome obstacles, and helps you restore resilience. She provides space for restoration to unfold and the heartfelt desire of your life to be revealed. You’ll rediscover an inner strength to help you meet each life circumstance with the perfect response.

How does the body enter into all of this? Compared to other cultures, we tend to be less in our body. Our bodies have become hijacked by our thinking minds. She works with therapies that welcome the body as an equal partner with the mind.

What is iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation?

Short for Integrative Restoration, iRest is rooted in an ancient meditation practice incorporating mindfulness and somatic processes that produce deep relaxation and allow for deep inquiry. Adapted by clinical psychologist and yogic scholar, Richard Miller, iRest increases your ability to cope with life and enriches your sense of well-being. Research has shown that iRest alleviates the effects of:

  • Anxiety
  • Chronic pain
  • Post-traumatic stress (PTS)
  • Insomnia,
  • Depression
  • Addictions

This profound guided meditation is ideally practiced in a relaxed position either lying down or sitting comfortably. It can be experienced in a group setting, as well as individually as a co-meditation with a facilitator. The practice enables emotions and beliefs to surface and be explored. As a stand-alone therapeutic and coaching process, iRest is also a complimentary adjunct program that partners well with traditional and psychological therapies.

Experience and Training

As a Renaissance Soul it took many years for Jacqui’s interests, talents and passions to come together. Following a long career as an independent professional recruiter for major corporations, she went on to train and graduate from the Coaches Training Institute in 2000 to begin her coaching career. Continuing her journey, she became iRest Yoga Nidra Certified in 2013. She is currently enrolled in Clinical Somatic Education certification training.

As an adjunct faculty for Harper College in Palatine, IL since 1997, she currently teaches iRest courses. In the fall of 2020, she will be teaching a new course combining Somatic Education and iRest to focus on alleviating pain and stress. She is president and co-founder of the Veterans Restorative Project, a 501(c)(3), offering iRest programs free to veterans and their families at various VA facilities. Since 2001 she has been a staff writer for Yoga Chicago writing the Living in Sync column.

“You are right on top of what people need to hear and have an inspiring way of informing and uplifting them. I guess that’s what Living in Sync means!”
