Kelly graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she learned innovative coaching methods, Kelly Brown picturepractical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories; everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, and Paleo, to raw, vegan, and macrobiotics, and everything in between.  She has had the pleasure of studying with the world’s top health and wellness experts including Joshua Rosenthal, MScEd, founder and director of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Deepak Chopra, MD World Leader in Mind-Body Medicine, Director of Education at The Chopra Center, Bestselling Author.

Karen Klimczak, RDN

What gets Karen going every morning:

Karen is a Wellcoach® certified health coach and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, with over nine years of experience empowering individuals to nourish their minds and bodies through mindful food choices and behaviors.

Professional background:

Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and numerous years of nutrition consulting, Karen co-created a private nutrition counseling firm that fostered strong relationships with health care practices, senior living facilities, and integrative care firms.

Karen serves as a consultant nutrition expert and on the advisory board of Rise, a personalized nutrition coaching app/service. She participates with the Weight Management and Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Groups and volunteers with the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association.

Professional practice:

Karen has presented to large and small audiences in a variety of settings including: medical practices, fitness centers, community organizations, corporations, schools, and assisted living facilities. Karen’s warmth and compassion, and her ability to communicate complex nutrition issues to the public, has garnered her numerous interviews by Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Women’s Day Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine, and other publications and organizations.

Expertise and passion for client behavior change:

Karen works with a variety of clients to improve their overall health, wellbeing, energy, weight and lifestyle.  Her clients range in age from early adolescence to older adulthood.  She incorporates various techniques such as positive psychology, non-violent communication and appreciative inquiry to empower and inspire her clients to make healthy changes to their lives.  Her areas of expertise include: weight management, diabetes, disordered eating, heart disease and hormonal balance through nutrition.  Karen is known for her ability to truly connect with individuals by deep listening and offering empathy.  In so doing, she helps them define realistic and workable goals and supports them as they move towards achieving them.

Personal background:

Living in Connecticut with her husband and playful pup, Karen enjoys listening to inspiring podcasts, good music, gentle yoga, easy cooking, and frequent trips north to the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont.  She is cheerfully available for telephone consultations and coaching Monday thru Wednesday, 9 am thru 5 pm.
