About Nicole Walther, LCPC and her independently owned and operated private practice:
Nicole Walther is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She worked for many years doing therapy and crisis intervention for children, adolescents and young adults in settings including outpatient, schools, residential treatment centers, group homes and psychiatric hospitals. She also has experience conducting risk assessments for clients of all ages in a psychiatric hospital, where she worked as a supervisor.
Nicole received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 2006 and her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University in 2010.
Nicole uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapy. She helps her clients to create goals based on the achievements they are looking to attain and to identify techniques which can change their debilitating thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Nicole plays a very active role in therapy by listening and offering empathic feedback. She works closely with families and schools to help advocate for her clients and to provide support to all who are involved.
Nicole is also a proud member of Give an Hour, a volunteer organization that provides free mental health counseling services to the military, veterans and their families.
